(KPL) The Mother and Child Hospital has officially launched in vitro fertilization (IVF) services to support couples facing fertility challenges. The service is provided through the hospital’s Artificial Insemination Department in cooperation with New Hope Company Limited.
The official opening ceremony was held on December 28, 2025, at the Mother and Child Hospital. The event was attended by Mr. Bounphaeng Phoummalaxit, former Minister of Public Health, Mr. Anixay, Director of New Hope Company, and members of the hospital’s Board of Directors.
IVF is a modern medical technology that assists couples who are unable to conceive naturally. The process involves fertilizing the mother’s eggs with the father’s sperm in a laboratory before transferring healthy embryos into the mother’s uterus.
This technology benefits couples affected by conditions such as blocked fallopian tubes, low sperm quality, or other medical factors limiting natural conception. IVF also increases pregnancy success rates, particularly among older women, and allows for embryo screening to reduce the risk of certain genetic disorders.
