Hotline 1533 Launched to Combat Online Fraud

29/12/2025 14:51
KPL Authorities officially launched hotline number 1533 on December 29 to receive reports of online fraud, marking a significant step in strengthening efforts to protect the public from cybercrime.

The new hotline will serve as a dedicated channel for citizens to report cases of online scams, fraudulent transactions, and other forms of internet-related deception. Officials said the service aims to ensure timely response, facilitate investigations, and help prevent further losses among victims.

Members of the public are encouraged to contact 1533 as soon as they encounter suspicious online activities or believe they have been targeted by scammers. Information provided through the hotline will be handled by relevant authorities to support law enforcement action and raise awareness of emerging fraud activities.

The launch of the hotline reflects the government’s growing commitment to enhancing digital safety as online transactions and social media use continue to expand nationwide. Authorities also urged citizens to remain vigilant, verify information before making financial transfers, and avoid sharing personal or banking details online.

With the introduction of hotline 1533, officials hope to build greater public confidence in reporting cybercrime and to reduce the impact of online fraud on individuals and businesses in the country.
