Vietnam’s National Day, September 2, 1945, marks the victory of the August Revolution under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, when the Vietnamese people seized power, declared independence, and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam—today’s Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This historic milestone has guided Vietnam on its path to independence, freedom, and self-determination.
Over the past eight decades, Vietnam has achieved significant progress in green and sustainable development, industrial modernization, and improvement in people’s living standards. The country has maintained political stability, safeguarded peace, and expanded foreign relations, with its international standing and influence rising steadily, especially after the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The government and people of Laos highly value and commend the historic victories and achievements of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people over the past 80 years. These successes serve as a source of encouragement and strong support for the Lao Party, State, and multi-ethnic people in their mission to protect and build the nation toward socialism.
On this occasion, more than 80 photographs were displayed under the theme “Memories of Laos-Vietnam Relations: Historical Milestones and Vietnam’s Achievements over 80 Years.” The exhibition highlighted the shared history, sacrifices, solidarity, and enduring friendship between the two brotherly nations.
