(KPL/Prensa Latina) The arrival of Canadian tourists to Cuba in July of this year grew, with a month-end figure of 50,083 visitors, reported Cuban Tourism Institute.

The month-end figure showed that 50,083 visitors from that country crossed the borders of the Caribbean archipelago, equivalent to 112.34 percent compared to 2024, expressed Tourism Advisor Lessner Gomez.

Although data from the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI) points out that so far the overall figure for the first seven months of the year (478,388) is still below the 622,204 visitors equal to last year, but this news offers positive signs amid efforts to recover tourism in the Caribbean nation.

Gomez commented that this means a recovery this summer, thanks to all the efforts being made in Cuba, throughout the country, in all the hotels, where quality has improved, influencing customer satisfaction and allowing for a restoration of confidence when it comes to selling the destination.

The advisor estimates that a good winter season can be expected with the Canadian market, showing the trust in this tourist destination, for the sun, the beaches, the culture, and, above all, the people.

Gomez, who also highlighted the continued interest of repeater returning to the Caribbean country, referred to the presence in several Canadian cities of executives from Cuban and foreign hotel chains such as Melia, Muthus, and Blau to present an update on their products.

This presence aims to inform tour operators, travel agents, and airlines that market the attractions of the Caribbean island about details of Cuban tourism, the official concluded.
