(KPL) From June 20 to 22, the Institut français du Laos (French Institute) in Vientiane celebrated the Fête de la musique 2025 over three exceptional evenings.

More than 190 musicians in 40 groups set the stage alight, offering audiences a wide variety of music.

The evening of Friday 20th was magnificently opened by the Lycée Français International de Vientiane choir, followed by Sala Sujipuli, Khamlar KPV, Ariel, Yark‿Yim, Khounsok, Darwin Yder Donque, Vientiane International Choir, who all brought their unique touch to the event.

On Saturday and Sunday, the musical programme was enriched by the talents of Pierre-Nico, Dipdop, Flowercub, Marn, Bua Bai, Dumbling Monkie, Blos Som, Herrizond, Alchemist Love Story, Pedro Loius, Koumdao, Donti Den, Miss Ripper, Vayorath Xayasomroth, 7items, Jany Town Record, Got Ji, Pheromones, The Mood Maker, Showfree, Niyom, Inter, Nova, I-Here Team, Story Unavailable and Dropkick.

The musical styles were as varied as they were captivating: from orchestral harmonies and acoustic melodies to punk, pop, rock and metal. Traditional melodies also found their place, allowing audience to rediscover timeless and authentic sounds.

The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the release of the very first album by the Franco-Lao group Koumdao, which can now be discovered on all music listening platforms. Nearly 1,000 spectators were in attendance.

Organised by the French Embassy and the Institut français du Laos, the event was supported by the European Union, Beerlao and media partners Muan and Jipnoi Phaloh.
