(KPL) President Thongloun Sisoulith today welcomed the presentation of credentials from 12 foreign ambassadors to the Lao PDR and appointed six Lao ambassadors to serve abroad.
The foreign ambassadors included: Yogeshwar Sangwan (India), Luiz Manuel de Magalhães de Albuquerque Veloso (Portugal), Suren Baghdasaryan (Armenia), Pavlin Todorov (Bulgaria), Nassereddin Heidari (Iran), Kiptiness Lindsay Kimwole (Kenya), Patricia Yolanda Raez Portocarrero (Peru), Mario Jose Armengol Campos (Nicaragua), Kohdayar Marri (Pakistan), Jean Louis Robinson Richard (Madagascar), Dhan Bahadur Oli (Nepal), and E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe (Sri Lanka).
On this occasion, President Thongloun extended a warm welcome and congratulations to the newly appointed ambassadors.
He expressed confidence that their extensive diplomatic experience, knowledge, and skills would significantly contribute to strengthening and promoting friendly relations and cooperation between the Lao PDR and their respective countries.

The President emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral and multilateral relations, promoting high-level exchanges, and fostering people-to-people ties as a solid foundation for future collaboration. He highlighted key areas of focus, including economic and trade cooperation, investment, and other sectors of mutual interest.
President Thongloun urged the ambassadors to work closely with relevant Lao authorities to ensure the effective implementation of signed agreements.
He also encouraged them to visit various provinces across the Lao PDR to witness local development firsthand and to attract more foreign investors and businesses to the country.

The president expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided to the Lao PDR in the past, which has played a significant role in the nation's socio-economic development.
He expressed hope that the ambassadors would continue to support and cooperate with the Lao PDR, conveying warm greetings and best wishes to the leaders of their respective countries.
In response, the ambassadors thanked the president for his warm welcome and kind words. They pledged to continue promoting friendly relations and effective cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of the Lao PDR and their respective nations.

On the same day, President Thongloun appointed six Lao ambassadors to serve abroad: Mr. Amphay Kindavong as Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Chatoulong Bouasisavath to Australia, Mr. Khampheng Douangthongla to Austria, Mr. Vilatsone Visonenavong to Singapore, Mr. Sithsangkhom Sisaketh to ASEAN in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Mr. Heuankeo Sangsomsack to Brunei Darussalam.
President Thongloun commended the newly appointed Lao ambassadors and encouraged them to dedicate their efforts and expertise to further strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between the Lao PDR and their host countries.
He urged them to focus on implementing signed agreements, promoting high-level exchanges and people-to-people ties, attracting international cooperation and support, and encouraging foreign investors, businesses, and tourists to visit the Lao PDR.
He urged them to contribute to the nation's socio-economic development, poverty alleviation, and the goal of graduating the Lao PDR from the least-developed country status by 2026.
