(KPL) On February 26, 2025, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone sent a message of condolence to Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra following the passing of Thanin Kraivichien, former Prime Minister and former President of the Privy Council of Thailand.
The message stated:
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Thanin Kraivichien, former Prime Minister and former President of the Privy Council during the 9th Reign of the Kingdom of Thailand. This marks the loss of an important individual who made significant contributions and demonstrated great virtue in serving the nation. Mr. Thanin dedicated his efforts to the country and played a key role in fostering the longstanding and close cooperation between Laos and Thailand over the years.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, as well as personally, I extend my deepest condolences and share in the grief with Prime Minister, the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Kraivichien family during this difficult time."
