(KPL) The Chinese Embassy in Laos hosted a reception to celebrate the 2025 Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) on the evening of January 22, 2025, in Vientiane. The event was honored by the presence of Politburo member and Vice President Bounthong Chitmany, Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Training Board Khamphanh Pheuyavong, Deputy President of the National Assembly Sounthone Xayachack, members of the international diplomatic corps, and invited guests.
Chinese Ambassador to Laos Fang Hong remarked that the successful inscription of China’s Spring Festival and the Lao lamvong (Lao circle dance) as UNESCO World Heritage in the past year has created a warm atmosphere for the Chinese community in Laos. She highlighted that through dedicated efforts over the past year, both countries have improved the living conditions of their citizens, contributing to national development and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Fang also expressed pride in the achievements made in strengthening Laos-China relations and reaffirmed her commitment to working with all relevant authorities to further enhance friendship and cooperation in various sectors.
On behalf of the Party, government, and people of Laos, Vice President Bounthong Chitmany praised the remarkable achievements of the Chinese people in safeguarding their nation and advancing development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
He extended his best wishes for China’s continued success in national protection and development, aiming to build a prosperous nation in line with the directives of the Communist Party of China.
He also emphasized the importance of preserving the traditional Laos-China relationship and further strengthening the comprehensive, strategic, and long-term partnership based on the "Four-Good" principles and the Laos-China Community with a Shared Future.
