Lao and Chinese Senior Party Officials Convene for Theoretical Seminar in China

KPL Lao and Chinese senior Party officials convened for their 12th Theoretical Seminar held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China, from December 16-20. The seminar is part of the 2024 annual cooperation plan between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Communist Party of China (CPC). The Lao delegation was led by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoun, along with Khamphanh Pheuiyavong, Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Propaganda and Training Board, and President of the Theoretical Council of the LPRP Central Committee.

The seminar is part of the 2024 annual cooperation plan between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The Lao delegation was led by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoun, along with Khamphanh Pheuiyavong, Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Propaganda and Training Board, and President of the Theoretical Council of the LPRP Central Committee.

On December 17, Mr. Kikeo met with Li Shulei, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s Secretariat, and Head of the CPC Central Committee’s Publicity Department.

Mr. Kikeo expressed satisfaction with the traditional relations between the two Parties, governments, and peoples of Laos and China, emphasizing the significant achievements made over the past year. He noted that the top leaders of both Parties and governments have agreed on strategic partnerships and the implementation of a master plan to establish the Laos-China community with a shared future. This initiative, he stated, serves as a model for a global community with a shared future, actively bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both nations.

Mr. Kikeo praised the theoretical seminar, highlighting its role in furthering the cooperation plan between the two Parties and the master plan for building the Laos-China community with a shared future. He also commended the CPC for its comprehensive national development achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with President Xi Jinping as its core.

The discussions at the seminar focused on the theme “Supplementing Development Mechanisms: Lessons of Laos and China.” Both sides underscored the theme’s relevance to national development, Party governance, public administration, and socialist construction efforts in both countries. The seminar provided a platform for theoretical researchers to exchange experiences and lessons that can be applied to national development in the new era.

Li Shulei acknowledged the deepening cooperation between the two Parties, which has reached its highest level in the history of Laos-China relations. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening traditional friendship and promoting the implementation of the master plan on establishing Laos-China community with a shared future, ensuring greater concrete benefits for the peoples of both nations.
