The laying of wreaths and floral baskets symbolized profound respect, gratitude, and reverence for the Lao revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives for the national revolutionary cause.

Under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, these heroes secured victory, declared independence, and established the Lao People's Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975.

National Day, celebrated annually on December 2, holds profound significance for the Party, State, and the people of Laos. This historic occasion marks the triumph of the Lao nation in its struggle for independence, the realization of sovereignty, and the affirmation of the nation's equality among the global community.

On this day, Lao people of all ethnicities celebrate their unity and the complete independence of their homeland.
