(KPL) The 2024 Regional Cooperation Forum, organized by the People's Daily of China, was held on the morning of August 28 in Chengdu, China.

The event brought together representatives from local authorities, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, company representatives, and media delegations from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The Lao media delegation was led by Mr. Vanxay Tavinyan, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Newspaper.

During the forum, Ms. Hu Guo, Vice President of People's Daily China, emphasized that the Belt and Road Initiative has been extensively discussed with a focus on cooperation and joint contributions to ensure high-quality, stable, and long-term implementation for the maximum benefit of the people. As a publication of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, People's Daily has worked to promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

Ms. Hu expressed hope that the forum would serve as a bridge for exchanging valuable lessons and experiences to enhance friendship and cooperation for sustainable development.

The Belt and Road Initiative is a vital link connecting countries in the region, fostering cooperation not only in trade, investment, and transportation, but also in education, public health, technology, industry, and other fields. President Xi Jinping highlighted the need to strengthen the BRI through innovation, scientific and technological advances, and industrial transformation.

The 2024 Regional Cooperation Forum is regarded as a key platform for local government agencies, entrepreneurs, experts, and the media to exchange lessons, experiences, and benefits gained from the BRI. It also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss ways to enhance cooperation, promote people-centered investments, and jointly advance the construction of the Green Silk Road with quality, responsibility, and sustainability.
