(KPL) Ms Daophahat Keosamphan, 25, from Luang Namtha province was crowned Miss Laos 2023 during the final round of the competition held at the National Convention Hall in Vientiane on Friday night.

(KPL) Ms Daophahat Keosamphan, 25 from Luang Namtha province has been crowned Miss Laos 2023. Miss Laos contest was held at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane on Dec 15.
She works with the Laos- China Railway and helps promote it to the public.
She won the competition after answering a question about being a Lao youth. She was asked: What do you think about how social media has affected Lao society?
Ms Daophahat replied: "Social media has two sides, both negative and positive. We can use the positive side to search for information to develop ourselves and the people beside us. You can spread knowledge among the public by posting it on social media. The negative side is that encouraging the public to follow the news is not beneficial as bad things are often posted on social media.
Ms Aliya Heuangthavong was declared the first runner-up in the contest, Ms Mithouna Leuanbounma the second runner-up, Ms Thidsaphone Khonvong the third runner-up, and Ms Sonya Simmanotham the fourth runner-up.
More than 10 special awards were presented to the contestants, and each award included a cash prize of 10 million kip.
Lao singer Ola BlackEyes performed on stage to entertain the audience and contestants of Miss Laos 2023.
