PM urges successful implementation of new school year 2023-2024

KPL (KPL) Delivering a speech on the opening of new national academic year 2023-2024 on Monday, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone called on all organizations of the government and private sector, parents, and students across the country to provide cooperation and work with the education and sports sector to make preparation for and facilitate the implementation of the new school year.

 

(KPL) Delivering a speech on the opening of new national academic year 2023-2024 on Monday, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone called on all organizations of the government and private sector, parents, and students across the country to provide cooperation and work with the education and sports sector to make preparation for and facilitate the implementation of the new school year.

The premier extended warm and sincere greetings to educational administrators at all levels, teachers and students of all levels across the country.

The government has considered education as a crucial task in implementing the policy of the Party and the socio-economic development plan of the government with respect to education and human resource development which aim to produce human resources who are competent, equipped with revolutionary morals, and uphold righteous values, have good mental and physical health, are progressive and enthusiastic about science so that they will become quality workforce that meet the demands of national development in the new era.

The Prime Minister appreciated achievements and progress made by the education sector over the past one year with almost all educational institutes restoring normal teaching and learning, the government focusing all its limited resources on promoting enrolment at all levels, improving teacher allocation in remote areas and areas in need.

He expressed thanks to the Party committees and leaders of the Ministry of Education and Sports, local administrations, educational and sports administrators, educational institutes at all levels, government and private organisations, veterans, people of all ethnic groups, civil servants, teachers and students for their active material, physical and mental contribution to education.

He also expressed thanks to development partners, friendly countries, international organizations and non-governmental organizations for their assistance and participation in educational development in the past academic year.

He called on educational and sports administrators at all levels to uphold their responsibility, encourage educational institutes to operate normally, promote sports and gymnastic, art and literature activities and improve school environment so that they are more attractive to students.

He asked teachers to attach greater attention to implementing educational curriculum, improve learning and teaching methods, and strengthening pedagogical training on key subjects : multi-aged teaching, inclusive teaching, and Lao language teaching for children of minorities, and improve their professional and technological training in line with the trends of the changing world.
