(KPL) Saysettha Development Zone, a joint investment between Lao and Chinese companies, has been expected to be completed by 2030.

“This project will attract more and more investors to the Lao PDR,” said Wang Weikun, Director of the Laos-China Joint Development Company, a developer of the economic zone.

The zone is about to develop a residential area which will have healthcare and educational facilities, according to Mr. Wang.

Developers are currently focusing on constructing electronic production, agro processing, building material and machinery production precincts.

The Saysettha Development Zone is a priority project under China's Belt and Road Initiative and listed as a significant development project for Laos.

Located 17km to the northeast of Vientiane's central business district Saysettha, the Saysettha Development Zone is one of 12 economic zones in the Lao PDR.
