(KPL) President Bounnhang Vorachit received a courtesy call from the Head of the Presidential Office of Vietnam, Mr Dao Viet Trung on April 5 as the latter is on a working visit along with his delegation to Laos from April 4 to 7.
At the talks, President Bounnhang highly valued the visit to Laos by Mr Dao Viet Trung and his entourage as a significant contribution to strengthening the friendly relations and special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, governments and people of Laos and Vietnam.
In reply, the Vietnamese guest thanked the host for the warm welcome extended to him and his entourage and informed the host of the objectives of his visit to Laos.
This year marks the 55th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
To celebrate the historic day, a variety of activities have been planned at both central and local levels in the two countries.
