President Receives Letters of Credentials from Foreign Ambassadors

(KPL) President Bounnhang Vorachit on Feb 14 received at his palace letters of credentials from foreign ambassadors as they will soon be serving diplomatic duties in Laos.

The visiting ambassadors included Maria Natália Guterres Viegas Carrascalão of Timor Leste, Vladimir A. Goshin of Belarus, Dudley McKinley Thomas of Liberia, and Philippe Kridelka of Belgium.

Laos established diplomatic ties with Timor Leste on Jul 20, 2002, Belarus on Feb 7, 1994, Liberia on Aug 12, 2016, and Belgium on Dec 2, 1967.

While talking with the foreign guests, the President congratulated them on their appointment as ambassadors to Laos as significant contributions to enhancing the friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and their respective countries.

In reply, the ambassadors assured the President that they would do their utmost to enhance the relations and cooperation between Laos and their respective countries.

On the same day, President Bounnhang presented a letter of credentials to Mr Siviengphet Phetvorasack to serve as Lao Ambassador to the Russian Federation and gave the ambassador a guidance talk to make sure his diplomatic mission would bring optimal benefits for national protection and development in Laos, and for the bilateral cooperation and relations between Laos and Russia.

The ambassador assured the President that he would do his utmost to fulfill tasks designated to him by the government to bring about optimal benefits for the country.
