(KPL) Mrs Pany Yathortou, a politburo member, was re-elected as President of the National Assembly’s 8th legislature in the first Plenary Session of the National Assembly’s 8th legislature which was held earlier today.

(KPL) Mrs Pany Yathortou was re-elected as the President of National Assembly’s 8th Legislature yesterday. She pledged to continue to do her best to lead the country based on laws and the rule of law.
Mrs Pany received 146 votes from 148 National Assembly members of the 8th Legislature of National Assembly in the presence of former President Choummaly Sayasone, former Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and other Party and government leaders.
The meeting approved four Vice Presidents of the National Assembly including Lieutenant General Sengnouane Xayalath, Mr Somphan Phengkhammy, Mr Bounpon Bouttanavong and Ms Sisay Luedetmounsone.
During the three-day meeting, participants at the National Assembly’s 8th Legislature will discuss and approve the Vision 2030, the strategy for 2025, the 8th Five Year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2016-2020), a resolution on affairs of the National Assembly, and a resolution on government affairs.
