(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Member of the Politburo of the Party Central Committee, visited the reception centre for returning migrants in Dongmakkhai Village, Xaythany District, Vientiane Capital, on August 14, 2026.
During the visit, the Prime Minister met with returning migrants and encouraged them to maintain confidence in the leadership and guidance of the Party and State, uphold patriotism, and strictly respect and comply with the laws and regulations of the Lao PDR.
He urged the returnees to focus on improving their knowledge and skills and pursue honest and lawful livelihoods to build stable futures for themselves and their families.
Prime Minister Sonexay also encouraged them to cooperate closely with the centre's responsible authorities in vocational training, family tracing and other support programmes. Training opportunities include restaurant management, trading, service provision and repair skills, enabling returnees to develop practical skills and eventually secure employment or establish sustainable livelihoods.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of taking full advantage of the support and training provided by the centre to strengthen self-reliance and successfully reintegrate into their communities
