The annual European Film Festival 2026 is set to return to Vientiane later this month, offering audiences four full days of European films and cultural exchange through cinema.
The festival will take place from 21–24 May at Institut français du Laos, with screenings running daily from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Organisers have released the official film programme, featuring a diverse selection of stories from across Europe. Film enthusiasts are invited to enjoy a unique cinematic experience showcasing different cultures, perspectives and artistic styles through contemporary European cinema.
Admission to all screenings is free of charge, and all films will include both Lao and English subtitles to ensure accessibility for local and international audiences.
The European Film Festival has become one of Vientiane’s notable cultural events, attracting film enthusiasts, students and members of the public interested in international cinema and cultural exchange.
