The Department of Cyber Security under the Ministry of Technology and Communications, in cooperation with GMO Z.com Labs Laos Company Limited, held a seminar in Vientiane on March 11 to enhance knowledge on preventing cyber threats and strengthening brand and network system security within organizations.
The event was chaired by Khamla Sonnalat, Director General of the Department of Cyber Security, with representatives from relevant sectors, companies, enterprises and financial institutions in attendance.
Mr. Khamla noted that preventing cyber threats is a key priority, reflecting the commitment of all stakeholders to address cybersecurity challenges and protect network systems within organizations. He emphasized that cyber threats have become a global challenge, causing significant financial losses and disrupting essential services.
He added that such threats target not only government institutions but also private companies, enterprises and banks, making stronger cooperation and preparedness increasingly important.
The seminar aimed to strengthen collaboration between the ministry, the Department of Cyber Security and relevant sectors, while also promoting the development of cybersecurity knowledge, skills and expertise among Lao personnel to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital environment.
