The meeting aimed to strengthen the long-standing 35-year partnership between Laos and Australia, particularly in the agriculture and forestry sectors, with ACIAR playing a key role in supporting agricultural research and development.

These projects focus on several areas including agriculture and forestry, fisheries and water resources, soil science and agribusiness, policy development, and human resource capacity building.

During the meeting, the minister expressed appreciation for Australia’s continued technical and financial support to the Lao agricultural sector, noting that the cooperation has produced tangible results in improving agricultural research and development.

He also encouraged relevant technical teams from both sides to further strengthen coordination and communication to ensure the continued success of future cooperation projects.
