Mittaphab Hospital will host a hand surgery and treatment programme for children and adults from March 9–14, 2026, providing specialised care for patients with congenital and accident-related hand deformities.
The initiative is a cooperation programme between Mittaphab Hospital and GICAM, bringing together Lao medical personnel and visiting hand surgery specialists from several countries, including Switzerland and Italy.Hospital officials said the programme is open to patients of all ages and aims to expand access to specialised hand treatment services in Lao PDR.Treatment will address a wide range of wrist and hand conditions, including burn-related fused fingers, congenital abnormalities such as syndactyly and polydactyly, bone deformities, and nerve-related disorders affecting hand and arm function.Organisers said certain medical tools and equipment used during treatment will be covered by the programme.
