Creative Works Competition Launched to Mark 65 Years of Lao–China Relations

KPL The Chinese Cultural Center in the Lao PDR has officially launched a Creative Works Competition in photography, painting, and short video under the theme “Laos–China Perspectives: Sharing Beauty Together,” in celebration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and China in 2026.

The competition aims to encourage artists and content creators to express the cultural essence, shared memories, and emotional connections between the two countries through creative works. By drawing on imagination and personal perspectives, participants are invited to transform art into a meaningful bridge that fosters understanding and people-to-people and cultural exchanges between Laos and China.

The total prize value exceeds 60 million kip. In the photography and painting categories, one first prize of 8 million kip will be awarded in each category, along with two Contemporary Expression Awards of 4 million kip each and two Outstanding Awards of 2 million kip each. In the short video category, one first prize of 10 million kip will be awarded, two Contemporary Expression Awards of 5 million kip each, and two Outstanding Awards of 2 million kip each.

Award-winning participants will receive certificates and cash prizes presented by the Chinese Cultural Center in the Lao PDR. Selected works will also have the opportunity to be featured in a contemporary art exhibition commemorating the 65th anniversary of Lao–China diplomatic relations in 2026, held under the same theme “Lao–China Perspectives: Sharing Beauty Together.”

Submissions will be accepted from January 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (Lao time) until March 10, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (Lao time). The final results will be announced at the end of March 2026. The list of award recipients will be published on the official Facebook page of the Chinese Cultural Center in the Lao PDR, and winners will be notified individually via email.
