KPL Preparations for the ceremonial receptions at the opening and closing of the 12th National Sports Games, which Vientiane Capital will host in 2025, are now over 90 percent complete, reflecting strong progress toward the highly anticipated national event.

Mrs. Lienkham Vilaphan, President of the Vientiane Women’s Union and Head of the Committee for Ceremonial Reception for the 12th National Sports Games (Vientiane Capital Games 2025), gave an interview to the media on October 31, 2025, reporting steady progress in all assigned tasks.

She explained that after receiving approval for the appointment of the responsible committee of Vientiane Capital, the ceremonial committee immediately organized meetings to assign duties and expand the responsibilities outlined in the official agreement, which also provided for the establishment of sub-committees to assist with the ceremonial work during the games.

Since the formation of the sub-committees and related working groups—comprising a total of ten committees—the team has conducted inspections of seating areas, particularly those designated for high-level leaders from both domestic and international delegations, as well as provincial, ministerial, and organizational representatives.

Drafting and distribution of invitations for participants at all levels have been completed, along with ceremonial arrangements for the sacred torch relay in each district. Preparations for seating arrangements around the main venue (16th Stadium) have also been finalized, with various zones organized. The leadership area will accommodate over 600 seats, while the entire stadium has a total capacity of more than 20,000 spectators.

In addition, planning for budgets, staffing, and volunteer coordination has progressed significantly, with overall readiness exceeding 90 percent. The committee will continue finalizing the remaining tasks in preparation for the opening rehearsal and official opening ceremony, which will be held soon.

On this occasion, Mrs. Lienkham Vilaphan, on behalf of the Ceremonial Reception Committee, called on all residents of Vientiane Capital to act as gracious hosts. She encouraged everyone to work together to make Vientiane a peaceful, safe, clean, and welcoming city, upholding the good traditions and unity that reflect the proud spirit of the nation and its capital.
