(KPL/VNA) A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Organisation Commission held talks with their Lao counterparts in Vientiane on August 19.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Nguyen Thanh Tam, member of the CPV Central Committee and deputy head of the commission and the Lao delegation was headed by Boudsadi Thanameung, member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and deputy head of the committee's organisation commission.
At the meeting, both sides exchanged updates on Party-building efforts and socio-economic development in each country.
They agreed that as both Parties are preparing for their respective national congresses, the CPV’s assignment of its Organisation Commission to hold in-depth discussions with its Lao counterpart was of great significance, contributing to strengthening the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Tam stressed that the visit provided an opportunity to deepen exchanges on Party organisation and building, especially restructuring the organisational apparatus and preparing all-level party congresses toward the 14th National Congress of the CPV.
Both sides also shared experience in party membership development management, and strengthening grassroots organisations in line with new requirements.
For his part, Boudsadi Thanameung lauded the effective cooperation between the two commissions, highlighting achievements of the LPRP in Party building, including preparations for congresses at all levels, organisational restructuring, and enhancing the quality of cadres and Party members.
The talks took place in a warm, sincere, and comradely atmosphere, reflecting the determination of both commissions to further enhance cooperation, share experience, and contribute to consolidating the special Vietnam–Laos ties.
During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation will meet leaders of Vientiane province on August 20 and pay a courtesy call to the head of the LPRP Organisation Commission on August 21 before returning to Vietnam.
