(KPL/Prensa Latina) The Australian Associated Press (AAP), a national news agency with nearly a century of history, announced on Wednesday an agreement with Google to supply content to Gemini, the technology giant's generative artificial intelligence platform.

Both companies aim to improve the accuracy and timeliness of the responses provided by this AI system, especially on issues of Australian interest.

Although the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, sources from both organizations confirmed that this collaboration will provide Gemini with access to verified, real-time information, which will increase the trustworthiness and relevance of the responses generated by the model.

“Our partnership ensures that Google’s artificial intelligence can be based on rigorous journalism to provide users with up-to-date and reliable information,” Nic Hopkins, Google’s director of news partnerships for Australia and New Zealand, said.

AAP’s Executive Director Emma Cowdroy emphasized that the partnership reaffirms the agency’s leadership and credibility in the Australian news ecosystem.
