(KPL) The 2025 Seongnam Trade Mission, organized by KOTRA Vientiane in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, the Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Seongnam City, and the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency (SNIP), is poised to make a significant impact on the economic partnership between South Korea and the Lao PDR.
Held on August 7, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Vientiane, the event aimed to showcase Seongnam’s cutting-edge technological advancements while fostering strategic partnerships and exploring new market opportunities in Laos.
A key component of the mission was a series of one-on-one business matching sessions, designed to connect 13 leading Korean companies with 47 local Lao businesses. With over 92 meetings facilitated, the event emphasized collaboration across a wide range of sectors, including green technologies, healthcare solutions, beauty devices, security systems and ICT innovations.
Mr. Park Jungwe, Director General of KOTRA Vientiane said “The 2025 Seongnam Trade Mission marks a meaningful step forward in strengthening the economic and technological partnership between Korea and Laos. By introducing the innovative capabilities of Seongnam’s leading companies to the Lao market, we believe today’s business meetings have laid the foundation for long-term, mutually beneficial collaborations.”
He added that KOTRA will continue to serve as a reliable bridge between Korean and Lao businesses, driving sustained engagement and growth across key sectors such as healthcare, ICT, and advanced green technology. Mr. Park also expressed his sincere appreciation to Seongnam City, SNIP, and the Lao partners for their invaluable cooperation in making the event a success.
The trade mission featured an impressive lineup of Korean companies, each bringing unique expertise and innovative products such as GTWAVE Co., Ltd. – Specializes in industrial-grade wireless networking solutions and surveillance systems (established in 1997) and ACT Inc. – A pioneer in semiconductor cleaning and beauty devices, dedicated to enhancing quality of life (founded in 1988).
These tailored business meetings enabled participants to share market insights, assess product feasibility, and explore future partnerships. Attendees from both public and private sectors—including those in ICT, aviation, healthcare, and beauty—engaged in productive dialogues to build sustainable business relationships.
A key milestone of the trade mission was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ACT Inc., a Korean beauty device manufacturer, and Be Beauty, a Lao distributor. The one-year contract signifies the entry of advanced Korean beauty technologies into the Lao market and exemplifies the tangible results of the mission.
On August 8, the Korean delegation visited the Lao National Internet Center (LANIC) to better understand the country’s ICT infrastructure and policies. The group also met withSOLUTEK SYSTEM LAO, a Korean-led tech firm supporting local startups, further deepening bilateral tech cooperation.
