Laos' trade value exceeds 1.1 bln USD in February

KPL (KPL​) The combined trade value of Laos' imports and exports amounted to 1.101 billion U.S. dollars in February, according to the Xinhua News Agency report on Tuesday.

(KPL​) The combined trade value of Laos' imports and exports amounted to 1.101 billion U.S. dollars in February, according to the Xinhua News Agency report on Tuesday.

The value of exports in February was recorded at 530 million dollars while imports at 570 million dollars, resulting in a trade deficit of about 40 million dollars, said the report.

Laos' main export products included cassava, mixed gold, copper ore, paper and paper products, wood pulp and paper waste, sugar, bananas, and rubber.

The country's main imports included diesel, land vehicles, mechanical equipment, steel and steel products, electrical appliances and equipment, gasoline, vehicle spare parts, plastic utensils, chemical products, and aluminum products.

China remained the top export destination for Laos, followed by Thailand and Vietnam. Meanwhile, the major import sources to Laos included Thailand, China and Vietnam.
