(KPL) President Thongloun Sisoulith met with Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Manet in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Apr 23.

President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his satisfaction with his meeting with the Cambodian leader for the third time.

The president appreciated the results of PM Hun Manet’s visit to the Lao PDR last month noting that the visit contributed significantly to strengthening the long-standing friendship, traditional solidarity and comprehensive and long-lasting strategic partnership between Laos and Cambodia.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the relations between the two countries which have deepened and widened at various levels. The two countries have maintained a regular exchange of official visits at various levels, thus contributing to the promotion of relations and cooperation between Laos and Cambodia.

The two leaders also spoke highly of the signing of key documents by leaders of the two countries during Prime Minister Hun Manet’s visit to Laos last month.

They agreed to urge relevant authorities of the two countries to continue to implement the agreements signed by the two countries, especially those on the demarcation of their common border and cooperation in fields of energy, connectivity, combating transnational crimes, defense and security, and people-to-people exchanges.

President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his gratitude to the Cambodian people and government for their cooperation and support to the Lao PDR, especially for the latter’s rotary ASEAN chairmanship in 2024, and expressed his hope that the Lao PDR will be able to welcome PM Hun Manet for his official visit to attend the ASEAN Summit in the near future.
