(KPL) The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Laos has announced that the 24th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-24) scheduled to be held in Vientiane, Laos, from 25 to 27 September 2024, according to a press conference last month in Luang Prabang province.
(KPL) The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of thethe Lao PDR have announced that the 24th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-24) will be held in Vientiane in September this year.
The forum will align with the Lao PDR's ASEAN Chairmanship under the theme, “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience,” spotlighting the paramount importance of regional collaboration in fostering connectivity and energy resilience.
Mr. Akomdeth Vongsay, Director General, Department of Planning and Cooperation, Ministry of Energy and Mines, and Senior Official on Energy (SOE) Leader of the Lao PDR expressed his delight in hosting AEBF-24 in the Lao PDR during its ASEAN Chairmanship.
He stated, "We are pleased to host the 24th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-24) this year. It is a testament to the Lao PDR's commitment to advancing regional cooperation in the energy sector. Under the theme of 'Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience,' we aim to strengthen ASEAN’s connectivity, promote economic integration, and fortify the region's energy resilience.” AEBF-24 will be held in conjunction with the 42nd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM-42) and the 4th ASEAN International Conference on Energy and Environment (AICEE).
It will feature various activities, including High-Level Panel Discussions and Minister-CEO Dialogue, providing a platform for thought leaders, policymakers, and industry professionals to discuss crucial energy challenges and prospects in the ASEAN region. Dr. Nuki Agya Utama, Executive Director of ACE, emphasized ACE's full commitment to supporting the Lao PDR’ ASEAN chairmanship through AEBF-24.
We are steadfast in our commitment to supporting the Lao PDR’ ASEAN chairmanship. Not only supporting the Lao PDR’s energy priorities, but AEBF-24 will also contribute to the regional targets of ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025 through fostering collaboration and showcase innovations between the governments, private sector, and academia.” As the AEBF-24 approaches, ACE stands resolute in its commitment to shaping a dynamic and interconnected energy landscape for the ASEAN region. Beyond the confines of a traditional forum, ACE envisions AEBF-24 as a catalyst for sustained collaboration, innovation, and resilience, he said.
