On April 23, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane received a courtesy call from the newly appointed German Ambassador to the Lao PDR Michael Grau on the occasion of his appointment to the post.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly congratulated the new German Ambassador on his appointment as a German Ambassador to the Lao PDR and told the guest that he highly valued the priceless assistance and support that the German government has provided to the Lao PDR over the past years adding that such assistance and support have significantly contributed to the socio-economic development and poverty reduction efforts in the Lao PDR.

(KPL) On April 23, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane received a courtesy call from the newly appointed German Ambassador to the Lao PDR Michael Grau on the occasion of his appointment to the post.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly congratulated the new German Ambassador on his appointment as a German Ambassador to the Lao PDR and told the guest that he highly valued the priceless assistance and support that the German government has provided to the Lao PDR over the past years adding that such assistance and support have significantly contributed to the socio-economic development and poverty reduction efforts in the Lao PDR.
The host expressed his hope that the German government would continue to provide assistance to the Lao PDR in various areas in the future and help the Lao PDR graduate from the status of least developed country by 2020 as well as enhance the relationship and cooperation between Laos and Germany.
In reply, the new ambassador expressed his thanks to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly for extending him a warm welcome and expressed his confidence that the Lao government and people will provide him cooperation and favourable conditions so that he can fulfil his diplomatic mission in the Lao PDR thus contributing to enhancing the cooperation between the Lao PDR and Germany.
On the same day, Mr. Saysomphone also received at his office a courtesy call from Mr. John Williams, new Australian Ambassador to Laos.
At the talks, the Vice President of the National Assembly expressed his pleasure with the diplomatic appointment of Mr. John Williams and his belief that the new diplomat would contribute to broadening the relations of friendship and co-operation between Laos and Australia.
The visiting ambassador thanked the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and assured him that he would do his best to tighten and deepen the relationship and cooperation between Laos and Australia.
