Vientiane Capital Plans to Grow Organic Bananas

KPL (KPL) The Vientiane Capital Department of Agriculture and Forestry plans to grow organic bananas on over 400 hectares in the districts of Xaythany, Sangthong, Pak Ngum and Naxaythong in Vientiane Capital.

(KPL) The Vientiane Capital Department of Agriculture and Forestry plans to grow organic bananas on over 400 hectares in the districts of Xaythany, Sangthong, Pak Ngum and Naxaythong in Vientiane Capital.

The meeting on establishment of organic banana farms was held on February 2 in Vientiane Capital and was chaired by the Head of Vientiane Capital Agriculture and Forestry Department, Mr Linkham Duangsavanh and was attended by representatives from the Agriculture and Forestry Sectors of Xaythany, Sangthong, Pak Ngum and Naxaythong districts.

The aim of the meeting was to determine farmland for the organic banana plantations in the four districts.

Mr Linkham said that the determination of the farmland was to ensure that the planned crops could be safely produced in an environmentally friendly manner.
