The Laos-China Railway Co., Ltd. launched its first morning passenger service from Boten to Vientiane on September 28, providing northern residents with a new option for same-day travel to the capital.
(KPL) Train C95 departed Boten Station at 8:00 am, accompanied by Mr. Lu Haizhou, General Manager of the Laos-China Railway Company, and is scheduled to arrive at Vientiane Station at 11:47 am.
The return service, C96, departs Vientiane at 2:05 pm and arrives in Boten at 6:32 pm, allowing passengers to make a round trip between Boten and Vientiane within one day.
Under the new schedule, C95 operates every Tuesday, while C96 operates every Thursday. Round-trip C95/C96 services operate every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The trains stop at six stations: Boten, Nateuy, Xay, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane.
The railway company said it had adjusted operations despite challenges related to transport capacity and staffing, with safety and passenger convenience as priorities.
The new services expand passenger transport options along the Laos-China Railway, making travel more convenient for people travelling for business, tourism and family visits. They are also expected to support tourism and economic activities along the railway corridor and strengthen connectivity between Laos and China.
