The “Value of Lao Wisdom” exhibition will be held from September 9–13, 2026, at the Lao-ITEC Exhibition Hall, Old Building, in Vientiane Capital, offering free admission to the public.

The five-day event will showcase Lao traditional knowledge, craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural identity, highlighting how heritage passed down through generations can be preserved while creating opportunities for communities and the modern economy.
Lao wisdom encompasses knowledge, skills, experience, and traditional practices, including handweaving, natural dyeing, basketry, woodcarving, silver and gold craftsmanship, pottery, traditional cuisine, herbal knowledge, music, dance, rituals, language, literature, and traditional ways of living in harmony with nature.
The exhibition will feature six main experience zones, allowing visitors to discover, learn, and engage with Lao cultural heritage. Visitors will be able to purchase authentic products directly from artisans and communities, while a dedicated area will showcase outstanding traditional works and heritage masterpieces.
Hands-on workshops will provide opportunities to learn traditional skills from experienced artisans. Cultural performances, fashion, music, traditional arts, Lao cuisine, coffee, tea, herbal products, and wellness activities will also form part of the programme.
The event will further include Business Matching activities to connect producers, artisans, entrepreneurs, buyers, and markets, helping expand opportunities for traditional products.
Organisers said the exhibition aims to promote appreciation and preservation of Lao wisdom, support local creativity and livelihoods, and encourage the transfer of traditional knowledge and skills to future generations.
