(KPL) Fuel prices in Laos have been sharply increased, with diesel rising by more than 33 percent, marking one of the most significant adjustments in recent months.

According to the Fuel Trading Department under the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the new pump prices reflect changes in the international oil market and pressure from exchange rate fluctuations.

Under the revised pricing structure:

Diesel increased from 21,930 kip to 29,310 kip per liter, the largest jump among fuel types.

Regular gasoline rose 16 percent, from 23,260 kip to 27,070 kip per liter.

Premium gasoline increased 11 percent, from 28,420 kip to 31,570 kip per liter.

The new fuel prices took effect nationwide at 06:00 AM on March 6, 2026.

Authorities also warned fuel retailers to strictly comply with the regulated prices, noting that violations could face strict penalties.

The announcement replaces a previous fuel pricing notice issued on March 3, 2026, indicating rapid shifts in the factors affecting fuel pricing policy. Officials expect the increase to impact transportation costs and consumer prices across the country.
