(KPL) Candidates for the 10th National Assembly representing Constituency 9 in Xieng Khouang Province met with defense and public security personnel during campaign activities held from February 9 to 10.

The delegation was led by Bounhome Thethany, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and Vice Chairman of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Election Committee. Campaign sessions were held at the Provincial Military Headquarters, the Provincial Public Security Headquarters, and a combined meeting involving Division 643, Division 702, and Regional Hospital 101.

The delegation was welcomed by Brigadier General Vanthong Phongsavanh, Political Chief of the Xieng Khouang Military Headquarters, along with party committees, commanders, and officers.

During the sessions, the candidates introduced their backgrounds, qualifications, and policy priorities, followed by an open forum allowing voters to present comments and proposals. Officials said the outreach aims to strengthen voter awareness, ensure understanding of election procedures, and encourage broad participation in the upcoming vote.

For Constituency 9, ten candidates, including three women, are contesting seven seats in the National Assembly.

According to provincial election data, Xieng Khouang has 172,780 eligible voters, including 82,797 women, from a total population of 613,848. Authorities have established 432 polling stations across the province.

The nationwide general election is scheduled for February 22, 2026.
