From January to December 2025, traffic accidents damaged more than 12,000 vehicles, with Vientiane Capital recording the highest number of cases and fatalities, followed by Champasak, Vientiane Province, and Savannakhet. While the overall number of accidents fell slightly from 2024, officials stressed that the human toll remains unacceptably high, underscoring the need for stronger road safety awareness and shared responsibility among all road users.
