On the morning of January 5, senior leaders of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), led by Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the LPRP, together with members of the Party Central Committee, laid wreaths at the Monument of the Unknown Soldiers (Red Star) and placed floral baskets at the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum.

The activities were held to commemorate and warmly welcome the upcoming 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, scheduled to take place from January 6–8, 2026.

The wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of the Unknown Soldiers symbolized deep respect, gratitude, and reverence for the heroic ancestors and revolutionary martyrs who courageously sacrificed their lives and shed their blood for the revolutionary cause. Under the wise leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, these sacrifices paved the way for national liberation, victory, independence, and the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic with honor and dignity.

On the same occasion, senior Party leaders placed floral baskets in front of the statue of President Kaysone Phomvihane to pay tribute to his outstanding virtues, historic role, and invaluable contributions to the nation and the Party. President Kaysone Phomvihane devoted his entire life to the struggle for national independence and freedom, leading the Lao revolution to victory and guiding the successful implementation of the two strategic tasks of national defense and development, as well as the comprehensive renovation process under the Party’s principled leadership.
