Typhoon Kalmaegi to Bring Heavy Rainfall to Central and Southern Laos

KPL The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a weather alert warning that Typhoon Kalmaegi is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall across central and southern parts of Laos from November 7 to 9.

According to the department, areas likely to be affected include the provinces of Attapeu, Sekong, Champasack, Salavanh, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Bolikhamxay, Xayabouly and Vientiane.

Officials have advised local authorities and residents in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant for possible flash floods, landslides, and rising river levels. Farmers and travelers are also urged to monitor weather updates closely and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period.

The department will continue to monitor the storm’s path and provide timely updates as Typhoon Kalmaegi moves closer to the region.
