(KPL) On October 14, 2025, Brigadier General Sengthong Keuabounlam, Deputy Head of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security and member of the Steering Committee for the 12th National Games, visited and encouraged the Shooting Team during their training session at the Five April International Shooting Range Training Centre.
In attendance were Mr. Phouthasone Soukaloun, Director of the Training Center and Head Coach of the Shooting Team, along with committee members, coaches, and athletes.
Monitoring and Preparation for the National Games
In an interview with the news team, Brig. Gen. Sengthong Keuabounlam stated that the Ministry’s sports committee has been actively monitoring and encouraging athletes across all 15 sports disciplines in which they will participate at the upcoming 12th National Games, scheduled to officially take place in November.
He noted that inspections showed athletes in every discipline have already reported to their respective training centers and are maintaining strong focus to ensure full readiness for the competition.
The Shooting Team will send 22 athletes, including 9 female competitors, to take part in six events: IPSC Handgun – Production category, IPSC Handgun – Standard category, Centerfire Handgun – 15 meters, Centerfire Handgun – 25 meters, 22 Handgun – 25 meters, 22 Prone Rifle – 50 meters
During the visit, Brig. Gen. Sengthong Keuabounlam praised the dedication of the organizing committee, coaches, and athletes for their commitment, discipline, and determination in training.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining unity, good health, and consistent practice to achieve the best results possible at the Games.
He also urged the responsible committees and coaching teams to continue guiding and motivating the athletes to reach higher goals, secure outstanding results, and win more gold medals than in previous competitions.
