(KPL) The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) will take place in Nanning, Guangxi, from September 17 to 21, under the theme "Smart Development, Innovation to Lead the Future – Building a Community of Common Destiny with the New Opportunities of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) Version 3.0."
Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat and Director of Guangxi International Expo Affairs, shared details in an interview with ASEAN media on August 27, 2025.
A major highlight of this year’s expo is a 10,000-square-meter Artificial Intelligence (AI) pavilion, where more than 100 leading enterprises, unicorns, and startups will showcase cutting-edge innovations. Each participating country will also present high-tech products, service industries, bulk commodities, and specialty goods.
Wei noted that this year, numerous ASEAN companies focused on AI will join the expo. Dedicated exhibition zones for new energy, smart transportation, and intelligent equipment will feature the latest AI-enabled applications.
In addition, the 22nd CAEXPO will cover a wide range of sectors, including the digital economy, green economy, supply chain connectivity, standards and technical regulations, conformity assessment procedures, customs and trade facilitation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, competition and consumer protection, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and economic and technological cooperation.
