KPL On June 4, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane received a courtesy visit from Mr. Laszlo Takacs, Ambassador of Hungary to the Lao PDR, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

(KPL) On June 4, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane received a courtesy visit from Mr. Laszlo Takacs, Ambassador of Hungary to the Lao PDR, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Thongsavanh warmly welcomed Ambassador Takacs and his delegation, expressing sincere appreciation for the continued support and valuable assistance provided by the government and people of Hungary over the years. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding and friendly relations between the Lao PDR and Hungary, rooted in a strategic partnership.

The two officials expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and shared enthusiasm for advancing bilateral ties. Ambassador Takacs conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to further promote Lao-Hungarian cooperation. He emphasized his intention to serve as a bridge for deepening collaboration, particularly through the exchange of high-level visits and joint efforts in areas of mutual interest, including education, agriculture, tourism, and more.

Both parties also agreed to explore opportunities to enhance economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Diplomatic relations between the Lao PDR and Hungary were officially established on September 12, 1962.
