French Embassy Celebrates Francophonie in Laos

KPL As part of the Month of Francophonie, the French Embassy in Laos, in collaboration with the Group of Francophone Ambassadors—including Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Canada, and Cambodia—hosted a reception on March 18, 2025 to celebrate the French-speaking community in Laos. The event brought together Lao authorities, the regional representative of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), and key actors in the promotion of the French language in the country.

(KPL)  As part of the Month of Francophonie, the French Embassy in Laos, in collaboration with the Group of Francophone Ambassadors—including Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Canada, and Cambodia—hosted a reception on March 18, 2025 to celebrate the French-speaking community in Laos. The event brought together Lao authorities, the regional representative of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), and key actors in the promotion of the French language in the country.

The celebration featured culinary specialties from various French-speaking countries, fostering a moment of cultural exchange around the French language, which unites the Francophone community worldwide.

In her speech, the French Ambassador emphasized the values of dialogue and cooperation promoted by the French language, reaffirming France's commitment to supporting access to French education. She highlighted French as a language of opportunity and openness, contributing to global exchange and progress.

She also reiterated France’s dedication to addressing shared challenges identified during the last Francophonie Summit, particularly in the areas of education, gender equality, and media literacy.

The French Embassy expressed gratitude to the Francophonie embassies in Laos and all partners who contributed to the success of the celebration, reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and cultural cooperation among French-speaking nations.
