(KPL) President of the Lao Front for National Development (LFND) Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune visited Oudomxay Province from September 20-21 to offer guidance and assess development initiatives.

During his visit, President Sinlavong presented 200 million kip in relief aid to the provincial administration to support flood recovery efforts.

As part of the visit, he met with Xay District leaders to review preparations for upcoming Party meetings, stressing the need for strong leadership and organizational discipline. Discussions focused on implementing key development goals, with an emphasis on reinforcing Party ideologies, national development, and patriotism.

In Nasenkham Village, which is home to over 1,700 people and 320 households, President Sinlavong learned about the local economy, primarily based on farming and animal husbandry. The village currently raises 480 cattle and 35 buffaloes. In addition to livestock farming, some villagers breed cattle for traditional festivals.

He encouraged local authorities and residents to foster unity and explore tourism opportunities tied to their traditional cattle-farming practices, aiming to attract visitors to Oudomxay Province and generate income for the community.

President Sinlavong also toured the Zhong Ou Rubber Processing Factory in Kornoy Village, which plays a crucial role in the government’s efforts to replace opium cultivation with rubber production. The factory has created jobs for local villagers and contributed to the province’s economic growth.
