(KPL) The Guangxi International Communication Centre was officially inaugurated in Nanning on Sep 6, 2024.

The centre will promote the creation of a diversified and multi-channel international publicity 'chorus' for external communication in Guangxi," said Xu Bo, President of Guangxi Daily and Director General of the Guangxi International Communication Centre.

Xu Bo added the centre will tell China's stories well, spread the voice of Guangxi well, and present a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive China with solid and effective work.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Yijun, a standing committee member of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee said that Guangxi will make full use of the advantages of being connected with ASEAN, cooperating with the media of the central government, ASEAN countries, Hong Kong and Macao, to build a shared international contribution centre, to build an international spread system focusing on ASEAN, and to promote practical cooperation between China and ASEAN.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the enactment of an overall plan about China’s new western land-sea corridor, it is also a year of high standard and high-quality construction of Pinglu Canal, the backbone project of China’s new western land-sea corridor. Upon the completion of the Pinglu Canal project, a new and efficient water transportation route will be established to facilitate trade between ASEAN and China, thereby promoting connectivity and intercommunication between China and ASEAN countries.

Guangxi is the frontier and window of China’s opening up and cooperation with ASEAN, Guangxi plays an irreplaceable role in deepening exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. In recent years, Guangxi has made full use of its unique advantages of geographical proximity, close friendship and cultural affinity with ASEAN countries, constantly explored and innovated cooperation with the media of ASEAN countries, shared stories of good-neighborliness and friendship between China and ASEAN, and promoted people-to-people exchanges, cultural integration and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN.

Promote practical cooperation between China and ASEAN

"China Daily and Guangxi have initially established a three-dimensional and diversified cooperation model." Liu Weiling Deputy Editor in Chief of China Daily said that China Daily will work with the Guangxi International Communication Centre to vividly tell the story of Guangxi’s efforts to build an important strategic hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, tell the story of Guangxi's efforts to serve the construction of a China-Asean community of common destiny and a strategic China-Vietnam community of common destiny, and interpret the practice of Chinese-style modernization in Guangxi.
