(KPL) The annual Memorial Ceremony to Ancestor Huang Di, a seminal figure in Chinese history, is set to take place in Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, within Henan province, Central China, on April 11,2024.

Announced by the organizing committee of “Memorial Ceremony to Ancestor Huang

Di in His Native Place” in Beijing on March 30, this event is not only a homage to a foundational ancestor but also a reflection of China’s journey, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the fifth year of the Yellow River basin’s ecological and developmental strategy.

This significant ceremony, supported by Henan’s People’s Government and other national and regional bodies, aims to reinforce the bond among Chinese communities worldwide and contribute to Henan’s contemporary progression. The theme, “Praying for China’s Prosperity and Carrying Forward the Multi-Millennial Civilization,” encapsulates the dual purpose of honoring past legacies while aspiring for national and global well-being.

The event will feature nine meticulously planned rituals, among them, a 75-meter dragon dance symbolizing the strength and spirit of the Chinese people in their quest for national rejuvenation. Furthermore, the ceremony will introduce the public to the ancestral rites of the Huang Di, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, to deepen understanding and appreciation of this rich cultural tapestry.

Innovative initiatives, including an enhanced online platform and international observances, will utilize cutting-edge technology to provide a global and immersive experience. This digital approach, alongside traditional gatherings, reflects a modern interpretation of age-old customs.

Complementing the memorial, the event will coincide with several significant cultural and business gatherings, such as the World Henan Entrepreneurs Convention and the Zhengzhou Qi-Huang Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Conference. These forums aim to disseminate and celebrate the enduring values of Chinese civilization.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the newly revitalized Native Place of Huang Di in Xinzheng, which now features a detailed relief corridor depicting the life and times of Huang Di, offering insights into the origins of Chinese cultural identity.

The organizing committee extends a heartfelt invitation to the global Chinese community to participate in this profound tribute to Huang Di, fostering a collective spirit of prosperity and harmony.
