(KPL) A photo exhibition on Former President Khamtay Siphandone kicked off in Vientiane on Feb 7 to mark the 100th anniversary of his birthday (Feb 8 1924).
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice-President Bounthong Chitmany, senior officials and relevant officials.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Head of the Central Committee Propaganda and Training Board Khamphan Pheuyavong said the exhibition was organised with a desire to honour and pay tribute to the great contributions of President Khamtay Siphandone to the country.
The photo exhibition displays more than 275 photos, 30 documents and 20 items.
The exhibition is divided into five parts such as hometown-childhood and youth, his participate in the struggle for independence, contributed to leading the national democratic revolution in the mission to fight against the imperialist invasion of the city in a new way and the prevention and build the nation.
The event exhibition will be hold for three months from the opening day.
