(KPL) Almost 30 journalists representing over 20 print and electronic media organizations in ASEAN are visiting Guangxi Province, China.

The trip will last 7 days from October 24 to 30, 2023 in three cities of Nanning, Guigangand Guilin in Guangxi province. Aiming to promote the high-quality development of economic and social.

The opening ceremony of ASEAN media held on October 25 in the city of Nanning, Guangxi province.

Addressing a welcoming ceremony for ASEAN media representatives, Liu Kun, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of CPC Guangxi Committee and Director of the Information Office of Guangxi Autonomous Region Government, recalled a long-run of being good neighbouring countries, and economic cooperation between ASEAN and China, especially between ASEAN and Gunagxi province.

This year also marks the 10th year anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and the 20th year anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partner between ASEAN and China, I hoped that the existing cooperation between the Chinaand ASEAN member countries, especially Guangxi Province and ASEAN member states will continue developing and reaching set goals in economic development,” said Liu Kun.

Deputy Director General of Information and Broadcasting of the Ministry of Information of Cambodia, Choun Chanphearoun, representing ASEAN media delegation, expressed thanks to the Publicity Department of CPC Guangxi Committee and the Guanxi Brach of China News Service for offering such a rare opportunity for ASEAN journalists to comprehend about Chinese culture, economic and social development.

He also said that the international media trip is also to strengthen the cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN member states.

The event was attended by Chief of Guangxi Branch of China News Service, Long Tuyou.

During the tour, the ASEANmedia will visit emerging technology enterprises, modern industrial parks, and major project sites to learn about Guangxi's achievements in building a modern industrial system, and also visit historical and cultural museums, cultural streets, and ancient water conservancy projects to experience Guangxi's profound historical and cultural heritage. In addition, they will visit ethnic villages with unique characteristics, participate in Guilin Art Festival activities, and witness the vitality of rural revitalization and the integration of culture with tourism.

The programme was held by the Publicity Department of CPC Guangxi Committee and Guangxi Branch of China News Service under theme “Guangxi in the Eyes of International Media 2023.”
