KPL Laos has recorded 4,371 cumulative dengue fever cases nationwide as of August 24, 2026, including 42 new cases, with no deaths reported, according to the latest health update.

Vientiane Capital reported the highest number of cases at 706, followed by Sekong with 530. Oudomxay and Vientiane Province each recorded 459 cases, while Khammouane reported 424.
Health authorities have urged people with fever or other symptoms to avoid self-medication and seek prompt medical attention at the nearest health facility for appropriate treatment.
Dengue is a seasonal disease in Laos, with cases typically rising during the rainy season from May to August, particularly in July and August. Changing weather patterns and irregular rainfall can also create favourable conditions for mosquito breeding.
Authorities are urging communities to intensify mosquito-control measures, including removing standing water and other potential breeding sites, to help curb further transmission.
