KPL Mahosot Hospital, in cooperation with the Lancang-Mekong Development Foundation (LMDF), has announced the launch of the Lancang-Mekong River Health Care Project “Mother’s Smile – Love in Laos” 2026, which will provide free cleft lip and palate reconstruction surgery for underprivileged people in Laos.

The project was initiated by the Lancang-Mekong Development Foundation in 2026 and is being carried out in collaboration with Mahosot Hospital in the Lao PDR and the “Mother’s Smile” Charity Organisation from China.

The programme aims to provide free medical treatment, including cleft lip, cleft palate, and related reconstructive surgeries, for disadvantaged patients who require access to specialised healthcare services.

Registration for the free surgery programme is open from now until 20 November 2026.

Interested individuals can contact the registration hotlines: 020 28 182 273, 020 77 310 443, 020 55 234 976

The organisers hope the initiative will help improve the quality of life and restore confidence among children and families affected by cleft conditions.
